any one know where I can find some free samples?
I am trying to build a metal kit for a current project.

Free samples that are quality are tough to come by. The Natural Studio free kit is good and has dynamic sampling (for realistic drum-replacement applications), although the samples aren't what I'd define as "metal." Well, Scandinavian metal, perhaps. You could always take the raw materials and effect/affect some attitude into them.
Beyond that, here's a few kick and snare samples. A few are free that I've gotten over the past years and others are from my private collection. Let me know if you need help with MegaU/L. |

Neither of which are free. I stumbled upon a site with free drum loops and samples. Not sure if I could find it again though. I have all the loops/samples that I could upload to yousendit or something. |

I have the drum section of the it done, but I now need cymbals.
I have plenty right now but all of the are to poppy. i need something darker. |
