It seems to be so easy from the sample and tutorial videos I've seen, almost easier than using Adobe Audition!
Am I correct or Just wishful thinking? (I have not used it yet, as I run Windows, but am going to buy OSX and run it instead soon enough) |

i have used it a bit, but i mainly used logic 7, and its far from an easy program.
its not over the top, but it has its learning curve. is it ever an amazing program though, once you get the hang of it. |

I've been using Logic for about 6 years, just upgraded to Logic Studio 8.
The workspace has changed drastically from the previous versions. It's actually a lot easier to use.
I would say that in comparison with nuendo, or Pro Tools le, its quite a bit more convoluted, but also more powerful for people doing composition all the way to mixing the final product.
I can't say much about the difference between Logic and the Adobe program you've mentioned as I have never used it.
Cheers, |

All I can say is that Logic is a great program, and has all the plugins you could want in a program. I have yet to come across something you can do in another program that you can not do in Logic. yet i have found many things that other programs can't do that logic does.
Its very powerful, allowing you to make real time adjustments to just about any thing. |

i actually upgraded about two months ago to a mac-based setup with Logic 8 from a pc setup with audition 2.0, so i may be able to offer a little insight. i don't think anyone would argue that logic runs circles around audition, but even from an ease of use standpoint, it's surprisingly not that complex given all the great things you can do with it.
the only thing that i would give the nod to audition on is that it's a bit easier to chop and make edits, though this is only because logic's editing is sample-accurate and far more detailed, so it's worth the added complexity IMO.
also, and this is really minor, logic doesn't offer a graphic pitch corrector, which i grew accustomed to using in audition. but again, that's minor stuff. |

I use Logic Studio every week and it is great, I'll never go back to ProTools- nothing but problems with it for the 4 years that I "tried" to get it working properly. Now that Logic is $500, ProTools isn't the only player on the block. (I'm not discounting Cubase, or Nuendo or any of the others, I just don't have any experience with them and since I use a Mac...) |
