Hey,
I want to get a ProFire Lightbridge, but the guy at my local pro audio dealer said I would also need to get pres to hook up to it. I need at least 8 channels and I want some decent sounding pres. What are some options I should know of?
Under $700
I'm using Logic on a Macbook Pro. Rock/Pop/Soul
Thanks |

There's quite a choice of ADAT-equipped multi-channel pre-amps, but not many good ones under $700. Possibly the Focusrite Octopre LE fitted with the ADAT output card would meet your spec.
However, I think you ought to take a step back and ask yourself why you are thinking of going this route. Is it to get more channels in M-Powered PT? If you are not constrained by PT, it may well be that a digitizing interface with pre-amps would be better value than using a LightBridge plus ADAT pre-amps. |

Actually I'm using Logic. I don't need 32 tracks right now, but I want something that I can grow into. I've got a Firepod (That I want to sell) right now and it's ok, but I know sometime soon I'm gonna want more. What about the Firestudio Project? Are you talking about something like that?
Thanks |
