Home Studio Hardware Upgrades?
It’s a new year & time to plan ahead for tax purposes. I’m getting a decent sound but I need to step up to a more commercial grade quality.
I’m running...
Neumann KM-184 mics.
Avalon 737 pre-amps.
DIGI 002 (with Pro Tools 7.1).
Waves Platinum Bundle Plug-ins (with L-2 & L-3 limiters)
McDSP Analogue Channel.
I’m presently working quite a lot with MIDI...
VSL
Stylus RMX
Atmosphere
Trilogy
Colossus
I’m looking for hardware to make noticeable improvements in clarity & transparency. My guy at Sweetwater has recommended...
Manley Varimu compressor-limiter
Empirical Labs Distressor EL-8SX
Apogee Big Ben clock.
Needless to say, we ain’t buying all that stuff at once- $$$!! Any suggestions would be appreciated. Of course, a single “Magic Bullet” unit would be great but I’m not expecting miracles.
Thanks.
