So, my band got a live recording. Since i have pro tools i asked them if they could give me a copy of it in .ptf so i could edit, add, or just do whatever i want to it, the thing is, im not too good at pro tools.

The only track that works is the very last one on the right, if i mute that last one, there is no noise. Some one please help. |

First thing: Back the truck up and buss everything to the master.
Does that help? |

Notice where you have the last track's output routed - to Analog 1-2 (third button above the pan sliders).
Route the rest of your tracks this way and you should be fine. |

Like fourone3 mentioned, you are not hearing all the seperate tracks due to the outputs selected on each one.
Looking at the image, there are 3 un-named audio tracks (8, 12 & 16), 1 un-named aux track (15) and 1 other un-named red track (i'm not sure what that one is).
Do you really need those tracks for the mixdown process?
The seperate drum audio tracks are all bussed to an aux track via Bus 1 & 2. The output of this aux track is then bussed to the un-named aux track via Bus 3 & 4 which has an EQ insert.
The guitar, audio 3 and vocals are all bussed to this same un-named aux track via Bus 3 & 4.
The output of the un-named aux track is set to Bus 5 & 6 but there are no tracks with 5 & 6 set as the input.
The easiest solution here is to set all the ouptuts to analogue 1 & 2 (if this is the output your using on your interface) and remove the un-named and un-used tracks. This will give you more control over each individual track.
Also set all the inputs to "no input".
Hope this helps;) |

Are you freaking serious???
I'm sorry everyone, but this one has me floored.
You have ProTools, there is a manual under the help function.
Please read it.
Because if you're going to edit, add, or just do whatever you want to it,
you will need to educate yourself. |

Your right. I should learn it. But the three other people were kind enough to help me. So thank you very much bent, fourone3, and tabacco_slammers! |

Hey, I just bought a Gibson Les Paul, when I hit the strings it makes noises, but I don't hear music, can someone tell me how to use a guitar???
How will you reply to that??? |

hold it by the little bit on the end of the long skinny bit
swing it around and around
then slam it into the guitar amplifier
when the bits fly
assume the rock god position
... there are many to chose from
... I've always been a bit fond of the crucifix
... (think Soundgarden Jesus Christ pose)
or
the Pete Towsend leap is cool, then raise one arm high in the air
put the sun-glasses on and leave the stage
that is if they are not already on ... which they should be
