Frankly, the last thing I want the client to see is their budget ticking away with a big sweeping second hand. (audible or not)
It just seems a little cruel to the artist and takes away the flow of the session.
I started this practice after the bass player walked in and asked "how many times has the guitar player cut his solo"
Producer looks at the big clock on the wall, and says " $150.00 worth"
I took the clock out that night and I've never had a big clock in the control room ever again.
I only use the little clock on the computer screen.
Sorry, not an answer to your question, but maybe something to think about. |

I believe metronomes are for quite moments when it just you V the crystal. Chasing the tick is worse than smack. |
