Hi. I've been recording for about 3 years now. Just recently upgraded my recording software and my sound card.
I record mostly R&B and Hip-Hop.
This is the first track I have finished with the new set up:

Track is "Problem"
Any advice/feed back/critique would be appreciated and I will gladly return the favor!
Thanks![/url] |

I don't usually like this kind of music. But what you have done, I think to be an outstanding job. I really liked this. A lot. Are you going to keep the engineering technique a secret?? A beautiful use of an SM 58 if ever I heard one.
Everything was clean. Uncluttered. Perfectly engineered. I could understand all of your lyrics which is very difficult thing for me. Great lyrics! Worth listening to.
The orchestral string arrangement samples was the icing on the cake! I loved it. Your engineering and arranging expertise was excellent! It kept me listening all the way through. And although the song indicated it was 3 1/2 minutes, it definitely went on longer than that. Cute trick.
I have a tendency to "ramble on" but with my ADD, I really couldn't read through everything you had. If you could put it into a magazine that I could take to the bathroom with me? I might be able to get through all of that... stuff? Otherwise, I think your song was of notable quality for both production, lyrics & content. That's not three strikes. THAT'S A HOMERUN!
This was obviously NOT produced by a beginner of any sort. You are really pulling our legs?
Although I'm not much into expletives in lyrics. I believe it says less than a euphemism? Besides, it's not radio friendly. Yes yes, I know it's a commonly used term. It just doesn't move me. It makes your uncommonly good production a little more common. The substance of your lyrics seem more relevant than the expletives. So those are superfluous and unnecessary. Is that an oxymoron or what? Didn't I just say the same thing twice? Oh no! I'm caught in a time warp.
Then you take a hop to the left....let's do the time warp again.
