I have a Presonus BlueTube that I have been using for sometime and recently it has stop providing phantom power. Any suggestions as to what could be the problem and how I might fix it?

Unfortunately phantom power is not generally an user-fixable issue. Send an e-mail to techsupport@presonus.com requesting an RA for service and they will get you going again.

If you need anything else, feel free to shoot me an e-mail. My e-mail address is kbenton@presonus.com.

Not really helping you, but I've been considering that box to be used with Firebox. How do you see, does that improve anything when pre'ed with Firebox. Or do I want to look for something fancier...

I had the misfortune of having to deal with the BlueTube when a client insisted that he use it in my place. Compared to an equally cheap piece of junk, an ART TubePac, it was even noisier and had less headroom. If you want a cheap tube preamp, check out the SP VTB-1. Skip the cheesey meters the others have. Why do people think that "tubes are better", anyway? The vintage tube gear (that I grew up with) was built point-to-point with REAL high-voltage rails.
HEADROOM, baby, pushing audio transformers that added some character. Modern cheap tube preamps are all basically solid-state, printed circuit boards, with a tube or two slapped onto the PCB. In a short period of time, the PCB's warp and/or crack from the heat generated from said tubes. And because the tubes are run at MUCH lower voltages (200 volts is NOT "high voltage" for these puppies!), the harmonic distortion the tubes generate is "non-linear", just like a transistor. All these cheap boxes end up being is a fuzzbox for mics.

Sudden great epiphany:
PCB stands for Printed Circuit Board
