Hello,
I have the D-Series drum mics by Audix, but I'm using a different brand OH. I like the sound of the Audix mics, and I'm wondering how the ADX-51's sound. I did searches on here and found no info, and I'd prefer someone's opinion that I trust (from here) to some random reviewer (from who knows where).
Anyone have anything to say about the sound/quality of these? I can get a new pair for under $300. I would like a nice dynamic and natural sound with a nice spread and not too much high end (using all Paiste 2002 cymbals). Will these do the trick? It seems like a good deal with the switchable rolloff and whatnot.
The room is small with low ceilings but does have decent acoustic paneling. Any opinions on how these things sound would be greatly appreciated! The OH's I have now have too bright a sound and I feel I hear some distortions around 8-10k. Thanks! |

58 views and nothing? This probably should have been posted in "Budget Gear" but I figured it could sort of fit here and would get more replies. I can't find a single review on these mics anywhere on the net... not even Musician's Fiend has ratings. Damn!
Well again, if anyone has any experience with the ADX-51, please post, I'm in the market for a new set of overheads and I don't want to drop the cash for 81's or a set of 414's right now. |
