I just upgraded my mixing/mastering DAW to a Quadcore with 8GB RAM, Nuendo and vista64 and XP64 (got connections at work Cool ) and to my frustration found out that there are only old crappy XP64 beta drivers for my delta, that don't even work (at least not in my case... nice work M-Audio! you suck! Evil or Very Mad ).

So now I need a low latency interface with two analog outputs , one or two analog inputs and a perfect driver support with Vista64 and XP64, and it wouldn't hurt to have a RCA S/PDIF too, but it's not nessesary. PCI, PCIe, USB and FireWire all work for me.

I don't need a preamp or monitor control as I already have that in seperate units.

Hey, this is the price you pay for living on the bleeding edge of technology. Cool

Seriously, I'm happy for you that you got Vistz64 and XP64 (for cheap? maybe even for FREE?) Regardless, though, you of all people certainly should know how "Fringe" that platform is going to be for a long time to come yet, ESPECIALLY in our comparitively small audio & video corner of the computer world.

I'm one of the few, the proud, even "The Happy" that has now upgraded to Vista. (Running the consmer 32bit version of it, and doing fine, thankyouverymuchindeed, on four out of seven computers in my operation here.) I really do understand how frustrating it is to find drivers and work-arounds for products that are not yet (or may never be) compatible with Vista, regardless of 32 or 64 bit versions. It's been quite an ongoing adventure, as I'm sure you can attest. Tweaks here, changes there, new network settings, new sharing and security issues; it's maddening but fun in a twisted sort of way, and in spite of the time spent "Fixing" and hunting down some things, I feel the changes are all working out for the better in the long run: better/smoother workflow, more options, etc.

I guess its' no suprise that you haven't (yet) found what you want for your sound cards, regardless of who makes it, but I think you're being a little unfair in M-Audio's case. I have always found their website and support area to be one of the best, content-wise. I've found all kinds of drivers there for every variety and flavor of OS, from PC to MAC, for just about any product. (And they have a LOT of products, old, new, discontinued, etc.) Maybe you want to give them a break on the 64 bit versions, at least for a while, eh? I wouldn't be surprised if they DO come up with something, but probably not for awhile yet, at least until the rest of the world catches up. (Could you offer to beta test for them? I doubt many have what you have up and running at your level of hardward & software..)

Besides, can't you get the specs you mention with a properly tuned and well-running version of Vista 32bit, or XP SP3? Thumbs Up

I've already offered my help, and even signed an NDA... :\

I can use 3.2GB og memory with XP and Vista 32 bit. I've been wondering wether I should try to get a hold on Windows Server 2003 or 2008, as they have enabled PAE (Vista 32 has PAE too, but M$ disabled it above 4GB), so I can use up to 64GB with it. It's just way to expensive :\
