Hi, I have very basic knowledge of recording gear, so bought the Digi 001 and Pro tools LE for my Mac many years ago, which I find very easy to use. I also have a Rode NTK mic. As the years have passed, the Digi 001 has become non-compatible with Mac OS x and pro tools updates, so I'm now looking at updating my gear, but not necessarily in the Digidesign range.
I want to mainly record acoustic guitars and vocals (folky, acoustic songs), and have looked at moving towards Logic Pro software but have no idea what hardware would compliment the software, or if this is even the direction I should head towards.
Any advice on where to go after my Digi 001 days would be fantastic! Looking at around the same price as Digidesign LE packages. Thanks! |

I started with an Mbox and ProTools LE about 4-5 years ago, then moved to Logic and a PreSonus FirePod (now called the FP10, about $400). I'm really happy with my interface and now PreSonus offers a wider range of units. |

Thanks for your advice. Today I played around with Logic Pro and a Presonus BlueTube Preamp with my Rode NTK - sounds pretty good actually... and best of all, my plugins finally work in Logic - it's great to realise there are so many more other options out there!
Thanks again! |

I use a Motu Traveler with my Mac and Logic. It works great. |

Hey Sozzin,
Do you mind me asking why you aren't keen on the 003 or 003Rack ("digi range")? |
