I am a noob, but I have a decent amount of experience with recording just not with pro-tools. I have a delta 1010LT with a 16 track mixer. anyways, whenever I get the tracks all set to make a final mix and bounce the tracks over, no matter what format I bounce it to, the distorted guitars sound flangery, drums and bass go to shit, etc. It is a definite difference from how my tracks sounds before i try bouncing them. For the life of me, I can't figure out what the hell is the issue. am i dealing with a soundcard issue? mixer set up? I feel like it is just something simple, but if anyone could point me in the right direction i would appreciate it. |

Weird, I have never had that problem. It always sounds just like it does when I hit play. I thought that is supposed to be one of the benefits of the real time bounce. Although from your description it sounds like a small delay. Try turning off hardware monitoring on your Delta 1010LT mixer.
If that doesn't work make sure you have the latest user update for Pro Tools M-Powered, and sound drivers from M-audio.
Try asking at the Digidesign Users Conference. |

nope. all i have is mic to the mixer, then mixer to soundcard on my pc. everything i am using is on the computer. no external hardware being used.
there is just a constant flange going on.. could it be something with the sampling rate? |

Try muting all aux buses in your project. There could be latency on one of the plugin on the aux bus causing the problem.
What are your settings on your 1010 mixer on the patch assignment page, and the sample rate page? |

man this may sound just freaking stupid, but i wasn't using dither on the master fading track so i think it was a matter of getting 24 bit crossed with 16 bit. i used to dither to make both 16 bit and that fixed. sorta easy, but it took me a while to figure that out. youtube. heh. |
