Digi001 EP

Hi,

Just recently recorded an EP for my band at home using the Digi001. Please take a moment out to listen to the 4 tracks and let me know what you think on the following levels:

1) Songs / instrumentation / vox
2) Mix
3) Mastering

Our sound has been mostly likened to a cross between David Gray / Coldplay and Radiohead.

Sounds great So Fine....Digi 001 eh!!
I just bought one a month ago and im quite impressed with it.. The songs have a bit of a hook to them but a little weak bringing them out i thought... The production is very good... Makes me feel good about owning a 001...

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, you can get pretty good results using the Digi001. I think that the 2 areas for vast noticeable improvement are to bypass the Digi001 pre-amps and the AD/DA by using some outboard gear. Many pre-amps come with better AD/DA than the Digi001. Check out the DUC for many discussions on this.

That EP was my second ever audio project. I learnt all I know from the DUC and this forum! (and a couple of books, and some common sense)

Si, I enjoyed "somethings Got to Give". Very nice clean sound. In your response you said youfelt that it was necessary to go to some outboard gear for the best sounds with the 001. Are you using outboard gear? What are you useing? What mic?

Hi Frank,

The only outboard gear I used was as follows:

TC Electronic Gold Channel: Pre amp and AD/DA with adat connection digitally to didi001
TC Electronic M-One: For verbs (spdif digitally to digi001)
SPL Vitaliser Mk2-t: Aural exciter on some parts of individual trax.

Rest was achieved through plug-ins.
