Tom, Technical difficultys with your server right now (I suppose high traffic) it starts but at 100K they both stop.

I will try later when it is not as crowded.

Merry Christmas to you and yours Tom !!!!!!

From Bill and Miss Maddie my little sweet sweet sweet Dog (thats what I tell her)

Tom! What a pleasure!

Brown eyed girl..I actually like yours better than the original!!

Frequency balance is great. I can make it sound larger ....but it is all really, tasty!!!!

That is fun!

Now..Minor Swing ...Sounds Russian style!

Again Tasty..really nice and professioanlly done!!

The little meter situations in the guitar work give it class and style!

Bill
Thanks you for the time and trouble checking out my tunes and for your kind remarks.
I am a semi-serious hobbiest, with a mix of consumer and prosumer gear.I don't have the bucks to get a pro level rig.I can't even do much to the rooms of my rent house for sound treatment (although I did bubblewrap a walk-in closet as an iso booth).
Can you offer any suggestions to someone in my situation in terms of making the best use of what I have available? While money IS an important limiter, time and effort are not.I have no commercial ambitions, just to polish my engineering chops so that my hobby recordings sound a bit more pro.

Actually, it sounds like you are!

Possibly, look at your monitors and look to get the best performance possible with them in your location. I found upgrading my power amp and speaker cable made noticable differences, and of course acoustic treatments.

Thank you Bill
I have a Hafler p1200 amp into a couple of Yamaha NS series bookshelf speakers now.I have heard good sound value can be had in the Yorkville YSM1s.The Yorkies ought to be a step up on the Yamahas.Upgrading my gear is a constant ongoing process. But my recordings have improved more due to the advice of more seasoned guys on the net like you that freely share your tips. Thanks!

I don't know.....the Yamahas are doing you pretty good now. Afterall you get it sounding "right" on the Yamahas and it will sound great on everything else.

Ok,
Thanks Bill.
I'll sit tight for the next few projects with my current rig.Latest thing to get me jazzed is drumagog.I just got it and replacing kick and snare with dynamic samples is really punching up my drum tracks.I will post another tune shortly and impose further on your kindness.
regards
Tom
