Does anyone know how to re-name the inputs? I have multiple SeaSound SoloEX sound cards in one computer, and the input names duplicate themselves.
EDIT: if the feature doesnt exist, is it planned for future upgrades? |

that is a great question, I have a Solo EX in my home studio, which I use for pre-production work. 2 mic pres are not enough and often thought of another EX as the solution with the obvious rservations. I use sonar and vegas for multitracking, but with the demise of SeaSound, and the lack of win2k or XP drivers my concerns have grown. My contribution is a SeaSound Forum of guys who have "carried the torch after the funeral". The site is:
SeaSound Audio Forum
and btw, they have produced WDM drivers that work with Windows 2000, hope this is of some help, Tommy P. |

I'm at the SeaSound forums all the time, as Tom P.
I posted there about being able to run multiple Solo's in one machine with the WDM alpha drivers.
Sonar is a well written app that seems to access deep into the system, avoiding the problems associated with running within the layer of someone elses code.
It actually shows the Solo PCI card as having 12 in/10 out. With both Solos installed, Sonar shows 24 in/20 out, allowing me to chose which card is the master sync.
So actually I have an 8 X 8 with four Solo pre's and two stereo S/PDIF. I can split the outputs to either Solo.
Since MIDI is not available with the alpha WDM drivers in Win2000, I'm adding a USB 2 X 2 for the MIDI.
So I need a way to rename the inputs, seeing "Solo/1/2 Solo/3/4 repeat itself twice is detracting the work flow.
Maybee Kimo can get some info on the subject.
BTW,Solo's are selling for cheap now, they can be a better less expensive "Expander" . |

Tommy,
I take it that you are speaking of the console view. I have been trying to get a little help from cakewalk on this matter myself as I am running with twin Layla 24's and have encountered
the same issue. I have been assured that Sonar 2.0 will address this issue and give us the ability to change the names.
I will contact you directly with any info regarding this. Thanks and good luck. By the way Solo users, I too had the SoloEX setup and one day it crashed and crashed completely. I then had to move to the Layla setup with much success.
