This one has me completely stumped...I'm not sure what the hell is going on...
This guy has a PC, Asus CUSL2 board running a PIII 1Ghz...has RME 9652 card, Adaptec 29160 card with a Madeo Raid system...
this configuration on Win2K works flawlessly..
on XP the madness begins..
play a previously recorded session from Win2k on the XP install and record with it everything be cool...
now, start a fresh project on XP and record a second track...the second track is way off in timing...all settings are the same from the previously recorded sessions to the new XP sessions...
I've gone though every setting with him, double checked all buffer sizes, etc etc etc..
even recording to the internal drive does it, I'm completely stumped..
any ideas?
Mic Pre>RME ADI8 Pro>RME 9652>Nuendo>Mackie D8B....
Opus

OK Gary, you know I am a novice at this crap, and I don't even own Nuendo, plus I use Win2000, not XP, but are you using any effects that could be causing a need for delay compensation? When I use any of the UAD-1 effects on a Group Channel in SX, I need to add delay compensation to all of the other channels to make everything line up..

Just grasping at straws here...

Nope ....no plugins...thing is, the guy is in Nashville so I'm not at the system and truly can not help much in that way..
weird thing is that it works fine when setting the project to 48 and not 44.1.....it just keeps getting weirder and weirder...oh well, he's happy in that sense..
he also switched back to 2K and got the same issue...it's astounding I tell you!

well I use a d8b with nuendo and one of the issues I have to deal with are the sampling rate issues due to wordclock sync with my 2408mk3. If the sampling rate is different in one if the 3(Motu 2408 MK3, d8b, or Nuendo) it can cause a problem with-in nuendo. Did he check to see if any had a different setting than the other? If he/she overlooked this, just simply change all the settings to the same rate such as 44.1 on all 3 and it should do the trick. If the person has adats in the chain, then apply the same theory. Not sure if this helps any, but hit me back if their are other things I can help out with.

Hey Philly got any answers for a Nuendo user in desperate need.

I am doing a project right now with several punch-ins, for whatever reason the tracks move around and are not in the correct spots when I re-open the files back up, upon recording them and playing them initialy they are fine, but when reopening they are out of sync and further some times do not play back at all, if I move the cursor back it plays then, sort of a 2 part question, any ideas?

Yo sorry it took so long to get back to you, but man you got me there. Not sure why the files would just move on their own. And the only thing I can think of why the file won't play back, if the track isn't muted, is the wave was moved from the original folder that it was stored in, or possibly different sample rates were used but I doubt its that one because Nuendo is supposed to be able to handle different sampling rates in the same project. Wish I can help you buddy.

I've been using Nuendo for about a year and a half and I've run accross this problem many times. I was using a Lexicon card with Nuendo on Win98 and had the problem then. I've been using a Mixtreme on Win2K and have had the problem less. What I have found is that by switching back and forth between the AISO driver and the Multimedia driver in the Nuendo audio prefs it will eventually sync up right in the proper original setting (41/4Cool. I can't explain why this happens but I do know that using an external sync (such as that supplied by the Mixtreme card or via an ADAT) makes for a much more stable system. If you have another sync sourse, try it.
