I have a friend who just bought a 2408 after being told by the salesman that it is all he needed to dump three sync-ed Da-88 into the PC.
So far he's had no luck whatsoever even dumping one DA-88. He hooked up the wordclock. He was told by several people he now needed a midi sync controler. This costs as much as the 2408 that was suposed to do it all. He's pissed off. Any thing he can do to get this to work?

Greetings Smile

I have a 2408 MKI - I used to have 2 x DA-88s, adn succesfully dumped stuff off of them before i sold them.

I used wordclock and the TDIF. I can't remember which was teh masterclock, DA_88 or 2408, but it did work.

I take it your mate has checked the settings in the PCI324 driver settings window?

Other than that I can't really help in this particular situation. I got rid of my DA-88's a few years ago, and am working from slighty hazy memory here.

Good luck.

1 - Wordclock out of the 2408 to DA-88 in.
2 - Set DA(s) to External clock
3 - Set MOTU Console for correct sample rate and select the DA inputs

4 - ensure the TDIF cables are hooked up (not straight 25way thru cables. TDIF cables have a swap-over which can be done easily in a IDC ribbon)

5 - select the inputs in your recording software.

6 - push go on the recording app

7 - push play on the DA(s)
