I have a friend who just bought a 2408 after being told by the salesman that it is all he needed to dump three sync-ed Da-88 into the PC.
So far he's had no luck whatsoever even dumping one DA-88. He hooked up the wordclock. He was told by several people he now needed a midi sync controler. This costs as much as the 2408 that was suposed to do it all. He's pissed off. Any thing he can do to get this to work? |

Greetings
I have a 2408 MKI - I used to have 2 x DA-88s, adn succesfully dumped stuff off of them before i sold them.
I used wordclock and the TDIF. I can't remember which was teh masterclock, DA_88 or 2408, but it did work.
I take it your mate has checked the settings in the PCI324 driver settings window?
Other than that I can't really help in this particular situation. I got rid of my DA-88's a few years ago, and am working from slighty hazy memory here.
Good luck.

1 - Wordclock out of the 2408 to DA-88 in.
2 - Set DA(s) to External clock
3 - Set MOTU Console for correct sample rate and select the DA inputs
4 - ensure the TDIF cables are hooked up (not straight 25way thru cables. TDIF cables have a swap-over which can be done easily in a IDC ribbon)
5 - select the inputs in your recording software.
6 - push go on the recording app
7 - push play on the DA(s) |
