I just built a Home Theater/Audio room in by basement. The room is 8'x14'x19'. The floor has a carpet on a pad and the walls and ceiling are drywall installed on USG resilient channels fastened to wood studs. I used USG acoustic insulation in the walls and ceiling.
This is a great site for learning how to improve the sound quality of a room by providing acoustic treatment. My room is currently too “live”. Way too much sound reflections, reverberation and slap echo. This is causing poor sound-staging and floppy bass. I’m going to build some traps and absorbers and see what happens.
