I have some blinding mathmatical equations to work with, but I would rather have some clean specs to build from. Does anyone have some truely professional designs to work off of. I just don't want to pull out a tape measure in the middle of a session to rip off the RPG dimensions. I'm never alone, but I'm so lonely. |

I definitely want to do it myself. I enjoy building things. It's great when I can use my carpentry skills to increase my recording potentials. |

Use 1/2" MDF.
If you go with the P7 version, set your modulus to 21 and you'll get:
well depth (inches)0.0 3.0 12.0 6.0 6.0 12.0 3.0.
With a modulus depth of 14, and you get:
well depth (inches)0.0 2.0 8.0 4.0 4.0 8.0 2.0
Split the zero depth well on each end and you get a diffusor very similar to others out there.
Of course, I'm partial to the P11 quadrafusor...

JZ, Thanks for the help. Your stuff looked very good. I just want to give it a shot while I have spare time. |

I'm taking it you are using the excel tables from studiotips.com. Correct? You change the MODULUS at the top in the first calculation. That changes it down the whole page. If you want a diffusor 24" across, I think I have a P7 design laying around somewhere. Its just trial and error to get the measurements right for width. Splitting the zero depth well is the way to go, but a bit more diffucult.
Of course, if I weren't a Browns fan I'd just give you my plans for a P7 design.....

Actually, that's a great resource. While I am familiar with prime number sequences and some of the basic theory involved with phase grating,I have yet to apply any of it.I'm going to review all the info I have at this point. Thanks you for helping out JZ !
