CWCI Insulation

I've dealt with Mike Fagan- but you could probably talk to anyone there.

I second the recommendation for CWCI Insulation. I dealt with Mike as well.

I 3rd CWCI. They have some rowdy folk working in that place which is kind of entertaining. |

I was quoted $21.52 for a 2' X 4' panel of 2" 705 FRK ???
And $10.32 for a 2' X 4' panel of 1" 703 FRK ???
Is that what you guys paid, it might be cheaper to pay shipping via Realtraps.com!!!! |

The price for the 705 looks about right- and if you check, it's just slightly less than you'd pay from RealTraps, plus no shipping.
The 703 looks like a crazy price though. Were you trying to buy just one sheet? I think I got a bundle of 24 2'x4'x1" 703 for right around $100-110. I'd double check on that one- I know I didn't pay more than .55-.60/ft. Whereas you'd be paying well over $1/ft.
Hope this helps-

I just ordered some 705 FRK from an insulation company here that sells it by the sqft. It didn't matter how much I bought - the panels came to about $23 and change each. No shipping but I do have to pay local tax. I was really surprised to find them in this small town (Prescott, AZ) but the company has their larger stores and warehouses in Phoenix and Tucson.

On the 703, I asked for a quote for 2 boxes (24)
The quote was $1.29 sq ft. at CWCI |

Shoot- I don't know what to say- my last order, which was less than 2 weeks ago- was for 1 box of 5 705frk 2" and 1 box of 24 703 1". The invoice isn't broken down, so those numbers i quoted were from memory- but my total order came in at under $1/ft, including the 705 which I know was over $2/ft.
I would call them back and just say you've been checking around on prices and ask if they can do any better on the 703.

Hey- I just noticed that you are talking about 703frk- My 703 was unfaced, so I am sure that accounts for the discrepancy. So, I have no idea if what they quoted is a bad price or not. Note that the prices you are comparing to on the realtraps page are for unfaced as well.
Sorry for any confusion which I might have caused.

Damn < I get around $54 on bundle of 703 in SanDiego, and the local guys get it from CWCI?
Though I did get them late last year-did the price go up that much?

I happen to be looking for some rigid fiberglass in the Phoenix area. Could you tell me the name of that insulator store?
thanks!

I paid $0.68 a square foot from CWCI at the end of December. This is for unfaced, 1" 703 (3 PCF). From what I was told, they only sell it in bulk packs of 24 sheets as shipped by Owens Corning. I needed over 66 panels, so I bought three of the bulk packs.
Cheers,
