question on a sound effect

im having trouble labeling this sound, u see it on the movies hunt for the red october and crimson tide, its when the little green text appears its like a beep beep sound only high pitched and fast, you also seee it on any army commercial, anyone know its name?

if you're talking about the effect that is timed with the typing of the text, i don't know what you call it but here's how to mimick it. get a program with a tone generator, experiment with a sine, square or triangle wave with a time duration of 2-15ms, (you'll have to play with it to know for sure - that's just a guess,) try frequency about 400 -600hz and use your ear until you get the right frequeny/pitch, and time duration. Once you've done this you can tag it to your video.

Is it the sound when something shows up on radar? Or is it that boing/beep sound?

its a beep sound and ty for the info vinniesrs but i actually just recorded the wound off of the movie hunt for the red october
