I believe 6" 705 FRK is a special order item from OC. IOW, don't bother unless you want to buy a truckload...sorry. |

Vince,
> I looked everywhere and I could not find the absorbtion coefficients for 6" 705 FRK. <
I don't have that either, but here's the results of some tests I did comparing three densities of rigid fiberglass 3 inches and 6 inches thick:

Also, there's no need to buy 6-inch thick material. Just get twice as many 3-inch panels and stack them adjacent. Note that if you use the FRK type you need to remove the FRK from one of the panels in the sandwich.

Yeah its some pretty heavy duty stuff so I imagined something like that would be the case. :\

True, True.
If I can only find FRK how difficult is it to remove the covering?
Interesting results in your density tests. Looks like I should probably go with the more coverage route even though that would require me building twice as many frames.
(2 stacked top/bottom in the corners, single sheets in the front, rear, left, right ceiling corners)
--------------
I emailed one of my local SPI distributors about 6" 705 FRK I assume I will get a response back about only being able to buy bulk now. When I get a reply I will email or call them back about their current price of plain or FRK 3" 705.
I will share post here what I find out... Only thing I know atm is that their 700 series prices have gone up 18% since 2004. |

Very easy. It peels right off. |
