When I first put my spare duvet on the back wall of the studio the sound improved dramatically (to my untrained ears!).
Now I have replaced that absorbtion with 2 1meter square 3" thick acoustic foam panels. The sound seems better still.
I'm now looking to tighten the sound further but am concerned not to over absorb high frequencies.
Would the room benifit from hanging the duvet behind the monitors? Or would that take away too much top end?? The room still has a "splashy" confused sound to it.
I'm making the bass traps in a month or so.
*The room is a cozy 7'x 8'*

Think about what you just wrote. what you need is LF absorption, and not to worry about too much HF absorption yet.
Dimensions, drawings etc, would help us give you a more complete answer.
