Hails all,
Vocally is there a big difference between the 57 and 58? Would it be worth trying to use both when recording demo vocals? Right now im not looking for an awesome sound otherwise, I'd use better Mics but off hand I have a SM57, and a few 58's. Is there a large difference frequecy-wise in the two mics? I always thought they were pretty much the same save the covers. |

they are the same mics except for the wind screens. use either one for recording vocals. the 58 with the wind screen might be a little better but not much of a difference on the vox |

I hear good things about the Kel mics and the AT 2020- they are in that range of the 57's 58's. the kel mics have an unconditional money back guareantee |

I use a Rode Nt1A for a lot of vocals... Under 200 bucks and sounds great! For a lot of female vocals I use either a MXL 900 or a MXL V67. Also cheaper mics, but sound good when recorded onto 2 inch... I like the warm sound of analog.... |
