In the spirit of New Year's, I'd like to see a thread dedicated to tracks that have been awesome in 2005. This should be a 100% negativity-free thread - No criticism, judgement, or elitism - only what you LIKED. Here's your chance to let everybody hear about it and maybe spread the feeling.

Feeling that Holiday Spirit? Share the love.

Albums I really liked this year:

Brand New - Deja Entendu
30 Seconds to Mars - A Beautiful Lie
Alkaline Trio - Crimson
Slipknot - Vol. 3
AFI - Sing the Sorrow (Yeah, it was a 2004 release, bite me)
NOFX - War on Errorism
The Unseen - State of Discontent

Brand new was my favorite out of the bunch. A great album with all sorts of songs on it, no confusion as to whether or not you're listening to the same songs.

Music from the Hearts of the Masters
- Jack DeJohnette and Foday Musa Suso

Listened to from end to end it's one of the most intense experiences I've ever heard-- from a purely musical standpoint. A true masterpiece which stands up musically to any live album in history IMO.

For me the highlight has to be the end of the twelve-year wait for

Kate Bush's new album, Aerial.

I'd be interested to know what mic she used. She previously used U87s and U67s. In this case it sounds more like a Brauner VM-1.

I didn't buy much new music this year, but of what I did, I'm pretty impressed with Neil Young's Prairie Wind.
