Way To Mt 4" thick Min Wool Panels across ceiling and w

I am making a wood frame to house a 4" thick 2' by 4' mineral wool panel. I want to use them at the point where the ceiling and the wall meet. What is he best way to mount the wooden frames?

How I've been doing it:

Screw triangular wedges in the corners of your empty wooden frame to strengthen it and give it rigidity.

then you can hold it easily in place, before it weighs anything, and mark the wall with the edges.

Screw 2 x 2 bars to the walls where you marked, you can tack these with PVA glue to start with so they can be easily shifted into place, testing to ensure your wooden frame will be held securely. When you've got the positioning right, drill through them, remove them, screw a rawlplug into the pilot hole and affix them.

If you need to fix 45 degree wedges to the 2x2 at this point, do so, dependent on whether you are mounting this flat or angled.

Then you can wrap the mineral wool into the frame (I use pond netting and a staplegun), overwrap with fabric, drop it onto place between your supports and screw it in. Dependent on the angle again, you can put struts between the supports to rest it on while you screw it in, then remove the struts.

Once you are done, you can cover the 2x2 - black paint, carpet or laminate floor underlay (silver or the black 'corrugated' studd) can be stapled or glued on to give a nice finish.

The other alternative is to cut MDF triangles if you want to do a 45 degree thing, fix those to wall, ceiling and corner with 2x2 blocks. You can then fix struts to the outside, drop the frame in, screw it from either side, and remove the struts and finish the triangles the same.

Would there be a huge difference if I mounted them on a 45 degree angle compared to putting them flat on the wall all the way up to the ceiling? Flat on the wall would be easier. I'm a little concerned about putting to much weight on the ceiling by mounting them on a 45.

The 45 degree does a lot of useful basstrapping. Flat on the wall also not perfect, try and get them as far out as they are deep i.e. you would leave a 4-inch airspace between wall and panel.

You could mount the wall panels first to approx 500mm from the ceiling, then rest the angle panels on them, pivot them up to the ceiling and lock them in with flat bars of 2 x 2 fixed to the ceiling. Then the ceiling isn't supporting any weight, just lateral force from the panel leaning against the bar, and the weight is shared by the wallpanel/floor and the wall itself.

Hi I have a similar problem, I bought some panel membrane traps and I'm trying to figure a way to mount them at a 45 degree angle at the horizontal corners of my room. Could you provide a diagram as well? My traps also can be hung, they have wires on the back. I couldn't figure a way to mount them by hanging them across the corners. Thanks.
