Let's say I've got 1 hour and 45 minutes of video footage to fit on a DVD. Now I want to know if I can fit not one but TWO Dolby AC3 mixes (from 5.1 surround mixes) and TWO PCM mixes with the same lenth of time for the audio. |

I'm no expert on this, so of course I'm going to chime in. There is a process called Bit Budgeting used to calculate bit rates for encoding. This will tell you where you have room and where you don't. The book "Protools Surround sound Mixing" by Rich Tozzoli has a chapter on this. Even If you are not mixing in Protools, the concepts in this book are pretty universal.
Sounds like you are getting to the end of your project. I hope it turned out all right. |
