Im completely fascinated with this album. I searched for production info. but can't find a thing. I was wondering how some of the techniques on the album were done. |

interesting question. the only things i've heard about the recording is that many hours were spent under a blanket, they almost bankrupted their record label by taking so long and that even though there was a girl in the band, the high vocals were kevin shields' sped up.
i can say that they used lots of effect pedals and whammy bars as i saw them live, close up back in the day. very loud and they left the stage for 25 mins. with feedback ablazing.
listen to the band "giant drag" to hear how someone can "pay homage" to the sound. |

yeah interesting album. love that guitar sound- its disgusting!! Check out their other joints if you aint already. I remember reading once about how they said they'd never release an album that was inferior to Loveless... and they never did... nothing at all!! I think the geeza did some shiz on the Lost In Translation OST. For me its guitar sound, early sampler action (def played from a musician's perspective not a techie's) indie style, and verb. |
