Weirdest thing. Every song I have in Cakewalk, including every audio track I've recorded, now says it's a midi track and when I go to try and change the track properties back, there is no option for doing so, and it only gives me the midi sources in the dropdown list, no audio... even for a new track. Does anyone know what I can do about this... been working on it for hours and have been having absolutely no luck. |

this may have nothing to do with cakewalk.
If audio track isnt even available in your menu for inserting tracks, you should check your audio outputs and inputs for the computer itself, it sounds as though one may not be selected
my 2 cents |

Bobaraba,
You'd have to give me a clue as to which Cakewalk software you are using before I could even pretend to help - Is it Pro Audio, Sonar, Project 5, Home Studio or Cakewalk 2.0 for DOS (in which case it does'nt do audio!). You could probably try the Cakewalk forums with a better chance of success than here. Without knowing anything specific have you checked that your audio drivers are correctly installed and available in "Cakewalk".
Nihility,
Which version of Cakewalk does "some funny shit" on you? Have you actually had problems or are you repeating something you heard? I can never understand this type of completely unspecific post. Bear in mind without specific information it can be no more than rumour or misinformation.
I personally find this type of comment quite amusing - I've used many different versions of Cakewalk since the 1980's and have yet to come across any of this "funny shit". I've no axe to grind here, I just find this kind of post, with no helpful information, useless. You could say "reinstall" for absolutely any software on the market. Why do you have to infer it is because "software x" is crap? |
