Ok I've got a G5 dual 2.0, 3 gigs of ram. And a RME fireface 800. I want to add on 8 channels through the adat. Any suggestions for a grand or less that will be equal or better quality? |

Ughhh... (sorry, no offense...)
try the mackie 800R. it's around 1k, sounds great and is very versatile. imo, this is one of the best pieces of gear introduced in the past 10 years - good sound, good build quality and just damn affordable.
