Have you or do you use Linux and Linux recording software?
What are your thoughts and where can you see Linux going for the studio? |

My thoughts are that Linux recording software is too immature for most experienced users' needs, that 3rd party plug-in support (VST, for example) is difficult to get up and running efficiently, and that not enough audio interfaces are properly supported with actual working drivers.
In other words, I think only a truly bored computer enthusiast should bother, at this point in time.
If working through all those issues *IS* the fun part of it for you (and there are many for whom that challenge IS entertaining) then go for it. But that's the ONLY case in which I'd recommend bothering.
