USB Mic and Soundcard recomendations for Voice Recording

We are going to be recording software tutorials and so it will be voice only. The problem is that the pc's being used to record are small form factor with limited ability to add a sound card. So this brings us to the question, for voice recording is the internal sound card good enough or would a external USB type sound card worth looking into? Our type internal sound cards are:

Internal Sound card #1 Analog Devices ADI 198x Integrated Audio
Internal Sound card #2 Analog Devices ADI 198x Integrated HD Audio

Is it worth it to get a USB type external sound card vs. uysing the internal Intel sound card?

What are some good USB mics for voice recording that are under $100.00

There's really no such thing as a USB mic good for recording vocals, or any type of music or professional audio for that matter..

A good mic to record vocals with is the M-Audio Nova which is $129 list. It's a large capsule cardoid (condenser). It has an excellent frequency response.

Or, you can pick up an SM57 for $99. One of the better dynamic mic's out there. Really good for recording guitar cabs, drums, etc.. You can get a decent vocal sound out of this mic, but it won't be as bright/airy as with the m-audio.

Having great raw data before any eq or effects is about 80% of having good quality recordings that sound great.

If your captured data is sub-par, no amount of effects can fix or even mask it.
