acoustic panels for my booth

My booth is a room full of concrete that is 4'W X 7'L with a 6.5 ceiling and I dont want to foam it up, so i was wondering if i can use these panels to cover up the booth inside completely.

Lets just go by the NRC numbers and tell me if they will absorb well enough for my booth that will be used for vocals only.

I wouldn't mind having a booth that is dead I just dont want a muddy boxy sound.

Yeah, that's probably okay, but plan on a LOT of panels in a room that small and made of cement.

Would placing 1/2" sheetrock on the structure before the panels help in any way?

What about placing the panels so that a gap exists between the concrete and panels OR the panels and the sheetrock?

I'm looking at the sheet rock as a means to get a handle on the reflective nature of corncrete:)

In my experience a dead room will give you dead music dynamically speaking. IMHO I think you need to break up the surface rather than cover it completely. You need a little bit of movement off the concrete to give your vox a bit of life.

hey sights i understand what you are saying and it makes sense but the reason why I was thinking about making it completley dead is because the room is so small that i thought i needed as much absorption possible and the panels i want to purchase i think dont do very well at 125hz the nrc is .35 is that good or is .35 going to do basically nothing?

I just want to spend my money the right way i dont want to waste it because I already wasted $100 dollars on on some foam from foambymail........that SHlt sucks.

No that is not going to do anything to help the sound. Your best to place the panels on the wall and space them 2 to 4" if you can.
You may want to also put a few bass traps in that room if you can fit them. Forget the drywall. Very Happy
