A friend of mine tells me I have too much foam.
I'm looking for some critiques to help me out with my setup...
The foam in the picture is the same on the left side as the right side. The back wall doesn't have foam but has those diffusor things and a couple bass traps.

There is no thing as "too much" or "too less". The pont is that there should be as much foam as needed. It depends of room and acoustic in it.
If You were listening to Your room while puting the foam on the wall and You decided that the place sounds good, so there is nothing wrong that You have so much foam. |

Ask your friend why he thinks you have too much foam and tell us his answer. |

Honestly, I think my room sounds good.. But I just figure I should make sure it's perfect if I put my money and time into it.
As far as why he said I have too much foam, I think it was his own pickyness. I'm mostly looking for what you guys have to say... Do I have too much foam up? Should I only have it where I need it? I record vocals and mix down in this same room. Could too much foam be ruining my mixdowns? |

well liek yaseck said no such thing as too much to litte. its just depends on what your room to sound like. with me i dont want there to be no reverberation becuz of a lot fo foam...but i dont want there to be an over abundance of reverb in the room. |

As far as the mixes are concerned, if they translate well outside of your studio, tell your friend to kiss off. Regarding the vocals, are they "dead"?
Then you reposition the singer/mic so that there is more 'room'. Simple, eh? |

I think you may need to put those monitors on some MoPads. More foam. |
