I don't recommend bass traps. Once you trap them, you'll have to feed them and take care of them and if you don't, the SPCA will get on your back. Besides, where are you going to stick all of that extra-bass? You've already got too much in your closets. You might have to call in a sheriff to have it removed?

You might want to make your room smaller in that way it will have less bass. A lower calorie diet might also help?

What are your traps made of?

In a room that size, you're not going to just need a few traps, you're going to need a LOT of absorption.

My main mix room is not much bigger and it's about the deadest room I've ever been in (quiet too...you can hear your heart beating...)

I sent you pics of a rack?? Not to say I didn't - I just don't recall.

If the adams are on either side of the rack, it could be resonating. Are you saying they *are* there or you *could* put them there. If they are - move them.

I have a large (very large) wooden rack (48 spaces - 24 in two rows) but it stays behind me in the control room and when filled, does a nice job of acting as a bit of diffusion.

When empty - it resonates like mad.

I may be moving temporarily into a a rather large room. Is there any budget way to absorb and deflect?
I have considered just buying a room kit, but i figure I might as well apply some of the building skills I have and make up some traps and absorbers that I can rest on the walls.

I plan on taking a shot at making mixing a career, so I dont want to be waisting valuable learning time in a room where every thing is cluttered and exaggerated.
