Hi again! Haha.
I am looking to upgrade some of my studio stuff and right now I am using the Behringer MS16 "monitors" which I must say are pretty horrid, but that's what I got.
I am looking to upgrade to something that is actually worthy of being called "monitors." My price range is about $150.00.
First off, I have a couple questions. How big is the difference between powered and unpowered? If I get passive/unpowered monitors, will I need something to power them?
Overall, I'm wondering your opinion on the best pair of monitors for $150.00. I know I'm not going to get anything amazing, but I still want your opinion.
Thank you! |

Save your bucks up and get yourself a pair of KRK RP5's. That is, if you want to have a decent pair of monitors that are self powered and sound good.
I have a pair and know others who also have some. Great Bang for the buck.

in regards to your other question, yes, passive monitors need a power amp to power them. |
