hi,
i am in the proscess if converting an old comercial loft into a live/work space with an intergrated studio. the tracking room will be basically built from the ground up so there is a lot of flexibility in the design. the current design is an effort to maximize space and create a large sounding live room with diffusion comeing from the nonparrallel walls (wierdly worded?sorry). i will be starting construction of the tracking room in not to long, and i would love to hear any thoughts on the design; concerns, questions, possible and probable problems (try that one 10 times fast).
tracking room on the left. the cielings will be about 16 ft (nice) with hanging absorbtion, the floor will be hardwood raised about 16" off the concreate floors. the control room is on a higher level, about 6 ft about the tracking room floor. i wouldn't mind doing a one room studio design but i would'nt know where to put the desk to get reliable monitoring acoustics. any outside the box thoughts on this could be done?
anyway, thanks all for reading and for thoughts on the design. |

i was plnning on leaving them open, maybe using it a storage for gear, cables, ect.
there will actually be a curved wall under the landing for the stairs that should make for a cool built in diffuser. |

Have you thought leaving the space open and having the console along the west wall? Yes, this question number 2.

do you mean the west wall of what is now the control room? (answering a question with a question, ha!)
the control room or area would have to be on the left/east because it is on the the mezanine level, 6 feet above the control room floor. |

By west I mean the architectural term for the wall on the left side of drawing. The angled wall with the window.
(I don't know happened. I did not have question in this post )
