So I don't think I'm going crazy? You Tube is not in stereo. Hard to believe! Gets me really pissed off. But I know that My Space videos can be posted in stereo and playback in stereo. At least that's what I've learned lately. So for this audio forum, I think we should be utilizing My Space for our audio and/or video examples especially when it comes to microphone technique and/or for recording instructional and exemplary purposes. This is crazy that none of this is in stereo. Luckily, we didn't have to pay anything.

I guess they think since we look at a single picture with two eyes, we should get only a single channel of audio? That's video people for ya'. They forget that our vision is stereo vision even when viewing a single source. We don't want to see no stinkin' edge curved CRT's anymore. We want flat. We want less dimension to look at. So we just have to use our imagination to think how good those stereos drums sound in mono. Thankfully our video is not 5.1 surround since we don't have eyes in the back of our heads. Video people must find it hard to understand that we can hear things behind us since we can't see them? But that's no reason to transmit that idiot who won't shut up sitting behind you at the movies.

Shut up!

Good point Remy. Most likely YouTube is controlling/conserving bandwidth.

I'm pretty certain we can post other A/V links on RO using the YouTube button on RO. Paste the url, highlight it and click the YouTube button and it should work.

I did it a while back with something and it worked.

I tried it with a Myspace video and the Youtube button didn't work - it could be the fact that I added the Youtube "&rel=1" tag at the end of the link...?

I'll go edit that post without that "rel" tag and see what happens...

Well I'll be dambed , someone who actualy understands that phase is everything !!!
Way to go !!!!!!!
I'll buy the beer .
The biggest problem with most studio and live situations is this incessant desire to close mike everything on the drums .
Now being a drummer as well as en engineer , I can tell you that I've played with numerous different miking techniques , and this just makes to much sense.
You'll never really get big bottom with this setup , but phase coherance, god I love ya. And if you want more bottom , throw in a bass drum mike and your done.
Completely makes sense , you use fewer mikes (read better fidelity) and
you can ply as much post processing as you want without getting muddy.
The only thing I noticed in the video that wasn't good was the mike bouncing around madly , hey guys get a better mike stand or a better floor.
Nice,beautifull, good on ya.
Regards...ampmaster

Ok, watched videos. Experimented. Had a jam session and decided to record it.

10x better thanks to billions of videos.

Now 10x better than shit like shit that has been sitting in amonia for a couple days. That being said

I think the drums are sounding a lot better, I haven't replaced the snare head (Damn need to get around to it). The guitar is being recorded with an SM58.

I can't really hear the drums properly for the guitar. I don't know what your live mixing setup is, but I would try to get a more even mix. The guitar is very overbearing. I actually think your files on soundclick (the poo series) has a better balance.

Kudos on getting out and trying to learn and trying new stuff.

PS: Maybe you should take away the guitarists effects pedal for a couple tracks and just see what happens. As a sound test it would be much easier to listen to with just one straight clean tone or one distortion tone.

Yeah, when he is messing with his pedal, certain things like distortion change the levels. So when I get it equal, then he flips a certain effect out, you get the picture. This was just an on the fly jam session, but yeah. Thanks.
