I just finished the first mix for one of three songs I recorded this weekend for a band called The Great Valley. They haven't recorded vocals yet, but I couldn't stop myself from starting to mix. Anyway, It's my first Pro Tools recording and I'd like some pointers. Thanks!

Hey there. Sounds pretty good overall in my opinion.

There's something about the cymbals though that catches my ear... like they are too loud or something... I can't quite put my finger on it.

Could you be a little bit more specific about what you mean with the cymbals? Is it just the high hats or the cymbals overall?

I appreciate it.

the recording of the instruments is pretty good. i like the mix of the guitars and bass...good job on that. but the drum CYMBALS feel weak to me and not very full sounding. and maybe lower the snare a lil bit.

Hi.

It may just be me but at times the seperate tracks sound out of sync.

Namely the muted guitar and drums.

Hope this helps;)

Listening through some headphones I would say the mix sounds fantastic. I would raise the guitar solos up a bit but I am sure you will adjust levels once the vox are in.

Have to say this tune sounds great. If their singer is decent this will be a solid song.
