Yep, the issue with all the ideas I presented is no flame retardant quality. So cheap and safe do not walk hand in hand.

You don't have a frame?

http://www.parttimeprojects.com/audio/diy/Hanging%20Bass%20Traps.html

It's just a simple, ugly frame.

When cutting or moving them, sure, wear a mask. But standing bass traps don't fill the air with fiberglass when they don't move. And I've heard that it takes a lot of fiberglass movement to make particles fill the air and harm you.

It may sound complicated, it's not. Just build the simplest frame, staple on the most common material, and there you have it.

Did anyone mention a fire retardant spray paint application?

There are spay-on fire retardants. However, bedding (which was mentioned) should have a fire rating. I have no idea if it is up to code for hanging on walls, but at least it is something you can look up.

Great replies everyone, going to probably use Muslin Fabric. There is a large fabric store in my area(Fields Fabrics), gonna stop by there and get some prices on fabrics.

Oh, and by the way, I initially got 48 ) 1' x 1' x 2" foam tiles from "Foambymail".
I would say the only use for this foam is to prevent ringing and slapback echo. Absorbtion isn't its strong point.
I tried using it in my Vocal Corner, and really dont like the results. I of course have it attached to the wall, with no space between the wall and the tiles.
I get resonance problems around 210Hz, 600Hz, 800Hz though, and dont like the sound of the vocal. Somewhat "telephone-ish", but not drastically.

I did read alot about the false NRC ratings of Foambymail, but I still got it anyway. But it will come to use.

I paid $68 total for the 48 tiles.
About the same price as the 6) 2' x 4' x 2" 703 panels, which of course blow the foam away in performance.
