I guess it was hard to detect the sarcasm in my last post.

Whatever you say man...

The waves plugins were something nice to have. The only ones I used were the RComp, Q8, and the RVerb. It's not a huge deal that I don't have them anymore.

What do the plugins get you anyway...a decent reverb sound? I like the reverb I get from the default plugins, hell, even from free ones.

The biggest problem is the singers at the other end Razz

PS, HalifaxSoundGuy: Had to get my comment in, as ever. Someone shouldda outta told me to shut up.

I thought the Rverb sounded really good.

Am I not the only guy here who plans on ripping this guy a new one?!?! Shocked

Seriously - first you come around and use valuable time from some of our members just to find out that the reason is because of CRACKED PLUGINs??!!!

And then you shrug it off as though it's no big deal.

Consider yourself lucky that I find myself more busy than I can handle right now. You see, so far, over the past 2 years, I've made over $10000 in rewards turning in a@@holes who steal and pirate software.

You don't think it's serious and it's only a few plugins?

Well, gee, I like the way a M50 sounds...I think I'll go take one. It's not hurting anyone since I'm not stealing a bunch of them. It sure sounds better than my stock set of mics too, so there's no harm done.

GET BENT!

(No, not you BenT)

Please, the next time you post here, make sure your hard drive is cleared of all cracked plugins and software. If not, I'll feel compelled to kick some cyber-ass.

Comprende?

You're absolutely right Jeremy. But, like you I've been busy. But I think there's hope... the first step is recognizing you have a problem, he just didn't know what the problem was.

Well I'm actually glad he posted here. Might make a good sticky. The only thing that would have made it better would have been if the cracked plugs had fried the session permanently and forced him to give back his fee. (And it shows you how naive I am that I didn't automatically figure out why it occurred to him to remove the plugins to see if he could fix the session.)

I realize there is some legitimate debate about what kind of legal protection intellectual property should get. But even if you think it is OK to violate the current protections in a particular situation - don't you think it's kind of dumb to make a client part of that violation? Isn't it pretty stupid to ask questions on a board populated by a lot of people who...you know...create intellectual property for a living? It's like going to a bankers convention and casually mentioning that you knocked over the First National last month.

That's the biggest problem though Bob -
He came here and posted about this in plain confidence. Such huberis is only a luxury to those who are either free from any potential of fault or failure or those who are blissfully stupid.

If you cant afford the tools you need to be in business, you cant afford to charge for your services.

Its that simple.

Imagine hiring a plumber to fix something major and he charges the going rate and doesnt bring a single tool.....or perhaps decides to steal tools from the truck of a plumber working down the block..........

There is no amount of justification that the poster can put up to explain the reasons "Why".....none.

Dont come here anymore . Thief.

Curses. I was expecting to be pulled up on the EIEIO actually.

Load of rubbish anyway. Who the hell would have a farm with 1 of everything on it?

I'm not stealing something that someone else needs to do their job. I'm merely using a copy. That is not taking away from anybody. Either way, there's no way I'm going to be able to buy these anytime soon. It seems like you guys have the wrong idea. I record bands that are friends of mine and I don't charge that much. I'm not hurting anybody by downloading plugins. It's not like I have a lot of money, but I choose to download them because I'm stingy or something. I would absolutely love to buy them, but there's no way I'd be able to anytime soon. I know, I know, I'm a terrible person for downloading and I'm never going to succeed at anything as long as I live. Right? I'm a senior in high school, getting ready to go to college. It's not like I'm some big time engineer.
