Is anyone familiar with the equipment this company makes?
I'm starting to see their stuff available around here and on the web, but I don't know anything about them. Their stuff is priced very competitively and they can write a compelling sentence.
I was looking at their headphone amplifier. |

SM? Is that short for Sado Masochistic Pro audio? I haven't heard of them how have you heard of them? But then I don't listen to things much because I'm a recording engineer.

What a concept! Mic preamps with alligator clip leads feeding 48VDC to nipple clamps...Self-flagelation with mic and instrument cables....Kind of gives the word "rack" a whole new meaning in this context, eh?
SM Pro audio is one of those enigmatic companies - makes horribly inexpensive gear but has a pretty loyal following of happy customers. To me, it appears as though it's the more ethical version of Beh***ger. |

Thanks Cucco. I saw on their web site they were an Australian company, but I'm guessing they manufacture in China. They came out with a bunch of new gear this year.
Remy, I wonder if the company should be called SM "Pro LE" Audio. You may not hear much about new gear, but I bet you know about s/m from being a recording engineer. |

The only piece of SM Pro Audio gear I have is their M-Patch2, a passive stereo volume control and source selector with active headphone amp. I'm pretty pleased with it for the money (£80/$160). |
