I dunno... The kind of mood I'm in... I'm ready for a good troll abuse...
| Quote: | | Hi I am just starting out and need some advice. |
Get real job?
| Quote: | | I am about to record a CD for a band. |
Are you now?... Isn't that sweet...
| Quote: | | The band plays pop/rock and I am just starting into recording. |
That's a bonus... does one really relate to the other?
| Quote: | | I want a really good sound, thats really important! |
So who you gonna get to record them for ya?
| Quote: | | I was woundering what equitment you would recommend? |
If they have a decent budget... mine.
| Quote: | | Money is no issue to a certain extent. |
Well there ya go! Have em' call me.
| Quote: | | I was thinking of a neumann u87, is that a good mic? |
Nope... they sound like ass. That's why no one records with em'... except every major studio on the planet.
| Quote: | | If anythings better let me know |
There's all kinds of things that are better... and worse. A 57 on a snare is better. A Beta52 on vox is worse.
If you're really thinkin' about doing this... you're in for a rude awakening.
If you're a troll... this is gonna be fun.
Being fresh meat and thinkin' that someone's gonna be able to just up and give you a $10,000 gear list that you can go buy... and then viola' you open a successful recording business... you're out of your mind.
If your in some class that gives you a $10k budget and you want someone else to do your homework... kiss my ass. Go do your own work.
There is no way that you can buy your way to good recording without any experience is about as laughable in this day and age as finding a rich, honest politician... ain't gonna happen junior.
If you're a troll... c'mon punk.... make my day.
You are most cordially welcome. |

Im going to post a serious reply here.
I am new myself. I just got a Presonus FireStudio and Im using Logic Pro.
Let me say that it will be a very long time before I can make a good recording. I cant express how overwhelming it is. So, good luck! |

Exactly the point the rest of us here are trying to make... Sorta.
Another point is that the OP appears to be a troll...
Regardless, no matter how long you're in this game, you gotta remember two things.
1) You'll never make great recordings 100% of the time - far too many variables.
2) You must have a sense of humor - without one this industry will drive you absolutely insane.
