lol ... as a new user ... I couldn't get my old sign on to work at all ... no matter what I did.

I think I may have been banned for bad music.
Shocked

Here's a new one off my upcoming release. I'm posting up as I complete what is "hopefully" final mixdown:

Without Radio

Any comments are warmly appreciated.

Best,

Kev-

Methinks, 1:50ish - "bucks" sounds too de-essed.
The radio exercpt sounds good but seems a bit lacking in variety and isn't really long enough IMO. Maybe I'm wishing it was more like the long drawn out affair in Starship - We Built This City.

Besides that, great.

I like that little snippet of " American top 40", in the background. Cute. Otherwise rather fun to listen to. But those background harmonies. Those need better intonation. Ouch.

Recording.org and I go way back. Before the transfer to the new format, I'd had thousands of post counts, and was a very frequent visitor.

With the jump to the new format, my attendance has been spotty, because I had some troubles logging in, and visiting became "difficult".

Finally, yesterday morning, I simply couldn't get beyond the "blank information screen of death" ... (Did you know you can add "of death" to about anything, and it sounds funny?) ... so I decided to do another do-over and re-register.

It worked like a charm. After 10 years, I was a newbie.

"First post", therefore, is a bit misleading ... but entirely accurate ... and I found it funny.

So I lol'd.

Laughing

Kev-

btw ... in the continuing weirdness, I've got html "on" ... can anyone inform me as to why my signature, which is obviously in proper html format, isn't appearing properly? Thanks!

Thanks codemonkey!

I didn't apply any de-essing to this vocal, but I will look at the word mentioned for sonic weirdness.

I purposefully limited the sound fx, for I didn't want to come off too "gimmicky" with overusage. Therefore, the fx are meant only to carry the passage between the end of the vocals, and the final solo section.

Thank you for the kind words!

Best,

Kev-

You mean the "slightly out of tune harmonies" that go: oooo la la la ?

I meant to do that, Remy Ann. They are modulated weirdness, gradually increasingly, purposefully pitchy -- particularly the last ones -- which are WAAY the heck out ... mirroring things getting more "out of whack" with time. Just an arrangement detail I snuck in ...

Internet killed MTV ... nobody wants it anymore.

Very Happy

(Thanks for the kinds words also!)

Best,

Kev-

Yes, your html markup is very good of death. For it to actually work you use [brackets] not the less than or greater than character of death.

Your right, this is a lot funnier then what I would have really said of death :)

Of course, of death,

But brackets [] are a bbs code item of death, whatever the hell the correct html language of death is <>, well then that would be the particular point of death now -- the crux, of death, if you will, of the matter.

Wouldn't it?

Laughing

Google it

Is the same as "["url=http://www.google.com/"]"Google it"["/url"]"

I do not believe the "html on" information really has anything to do with this. But you having been here for all these years must surely be aware of these things?

It works like this:

Kev's Signature

It's written like this, without the space between
url & equals ( : )

Kev's Signature

The code isn't completely distilled Ben...has the added "> on the end...and take off the Respectful as well:)

<a href="http://www.reverbnation.com/tunepak/438690">Retrospectful</a>

Would read
"["url=http://www.reverbnation.com/tunepak/438690"]"Retrospectful"["/url"]"

Without all those comma's of death.

That's the instructions for signatures in the profile section. I was only following the instructions of death.

I will attempt the sig in bbs code and see if it works. If it does, someone should correct the above instructions and tell folks to use the correct format of death.

Smile

(ed. later: It worked (obviously)!!! Thanks ALL!!!)
