You should DOWNLOAD this, then listen because streaming DESTROYS tonal value, especially with strings.
I uploaded my "intro" track, please let me know your thoughts on the music and the mix also. This is my first post.
I used east/west symphonic orchestra gold edition, mostly controlled by a Nord Lead 3 via midi. Also used an organ sound I made via the Nord. The Theremin is MOOG's standard model with some hardware effects.
Recorded using an E-MU 1616m with Dell laptop...what else...M Audio monitors used for the mixing.
This is actually a "METAL" project, I'm just into all sorts of music from synthetics to orchestral to middle eastern.
Hope to find some musicians through recordings and maybe through this site.
Thanks for listening. |

Quick comment:
Try either soundclick (free for 128kbps mp3 but has a confusing interface), or there is another which I can't remember the name of, but is also free.
Take out the space before the last [ in your link.
However, I won't comment on the song because I have no idea what a theremin is and I don't listen much to metal orchestral music. Someone else will though
PS: Nice laptop manufacturer eh?
PPS: Not. |

I have no prob with dell, just wanted to state that I (and anyone on a budget) can use a decent one for music production in your house, or room hahaha.
Theremin was the first electronic instrument ever made, common now...
the link, kept doing that everytime.
but uh thanks for the soundclick advice I guess?
PS to you: the song has no "metal" in it. If you took the time to type that out, you could have listened to part of it at least, being as its a whopping 2 minutes.
thanks |

OK, now I see what a theremin is.
I'm always on here at some stupid time in the morning as well, which doesn't help.
Hearing it I think the intro is too long, unless this is to become part of a longer piece.
The organ just sounds off, I appreciate the idea of making it stand out but IMO it's just bad timing.
I think there's some HF wave that sticks around and sounds out of place at 00:45
Good use of verb and good separation. |

The HF is there on purpose actually, that is a theremin, non-musical, yes, just an effect of noise.
Funny, other ppl like the organ haha. It jumps out on purpose, along with a switch off of many instruments if you listen carefully, I'm dealing with a whole orchestra, first attempt.
Intro is long, my songs range from 3 mins to 6...because there is rarely defined "beginnings" and "endings" of my music....I just like it to be progressive. -for example the "1st song" is really just a spin off of the intro, METAL-FIED. (yeah new word, just invented it)
This music is for people of similair interests of weirdness. Not for pop culture or uhhm making money. Strictly for happiness ya know? I'm only 22 though and have much to learn, counting my first album as a learning experience definately. |
