I haven't, but I'm trying to understand the point of it as I'm interested as well.
It allows you to mix and pan in surround, yes? Well what happens after that? You can't bounce down to a surround mix in Pro Tools. So your surround mix will essentially sit in Pro Tools forever, unless you somehow export it into something that will handle the encoding.
Learn me right, if I'm not thinking of this the right way.
