I just hit play on my itunes. And everything sounds bass heavy and out of phase in my ears. I also get an uncomfortable pushing feeling in my ears.

I have a slight sore throat that has appeared within the last hour. I don't think they are connected.

Its weird, should I see an audiologist or wait a couple days? Any ideas? Stress?

Press Pause/Stop is my first advice.

Poke a screwdriver in each ear and check the eardrum is still intact. Then do it again to check you never broke it the first time.

sounds like a sinus issue to me... sounds like... get it?

ha, but seriously do you have allergies? It could be a cold coming on and I think a decongestant would help your situation.

Good Luck!

well, the thing to do would be to go to a doctor pretty fast...
I had something like that a couple of years ago, and it was just some sinus troubles.
The guy gave me a nose spray and everything got back to normal in a few hours.
But to be able to get a appointment with an ear doctor, you'll have to explain to him that you really need your ears, for work... If he's a good guy, he should take you pretty fast.

Hi,
I had something like that happen once as well. you know how once in awhile your hearing will just drop out in one ear and you feel a pressure and it starts to ring? Then it slowly goes back to normal only lasting a few seconds. Well, this time it didn't go back to normal. It lasted for about 3 or 4 hours before I went to the emergency room (just to be safe). I was freaking out a little bit, but the doc said it was a sinus infection, gave me some antibiotics and I was on my way.

Check for swollen glands on your neck under your jaw. It's probably just a sinus problem. Try taking a hot shower for the steam or drink some medicine.

Oh hell, I have a gland or something under my jaw that plays up sometimes. Hasn't recently though so I can't remember any effect on my hearing. Tends to bring a sore throat or something as well...

Yup, that's the gland. Smile Swollen glands mean infection of some sort, usually coupled with a sore throat and/or sinus probs. Could be coming from your gums/teeth... anything. It's probably just fluid. If it doesn't go away get a broad spectrum antibiotic from your PCP.

Ever heard of ear candles? They clean your ears by way of creating a vacuum and they work really well, I use them from time to time. Oh, and eating something with a lot of cocktail sauce can do wonders for your sinuses.

EAR CANDLES? Shocked

I wanna get the wax OUT, not drip more IN! Razz

BTW, I was having a bit of troubles the past year or so with my left ear fading in and out. I KNEW it wasn't ruined, because it would come back, despite what the doc said. Felt like something inside the eardrum.

Moved from Denver to the flatlands...and it's cleared up more often, and only occasionally wigs out during rapid barometric pressure change periods. Maybe I need my inner head vacuumed out?

I've used ear candles before, not really a noticeable difference when I was done...

Some of my friends swear by them, though.

I don't like ear candles much.

Maybe it's the fear of burning my hair.
