Require a minimum number of posts before a new member is allowed to post links or embed images. kvraudio.com does this and I've never seen any porn there (seen quite a bit here recently!)

That seems weird to me. How would seeing a bit of porn harm your family? Its just sex you know, its not evil. I would rather my children see people making love than people blithely blowing each other's brains out (which seems to occur all the time on TV with no-one objecting.) |

I vote for prohibiting attachments as that's likely the simplest and most effective solution.
Remy - please watch your post content. Just an fyi, AwedOne isn't the only one that found your last response offensive and inappropriate. Thanks. |

I don't get it, how can some puns be offensive...
I mean, sure it's known as a low form of humor but that's like arguing that slip cast porcelain is fine art and a terracotta pot is pottery. It's all art.
Considering almost all of Ms. David's posts have some hidden salacious meaning I don't see why in a thread about porn it's not considered right on topic. A.K.A appropriate. No "offensive" language was used. It's all in your head.
Anyways, I've always enjoyed all of your posts, Ms. David. |

I don't have a problem with the spoken word, unless that spoken word contains spam.com, Freetv, "nice information, thank you!", "I don't know about the discussion but thanks for the info", etc...
I've friggin' had it with the spam, the bots, the knuckleheads that keep popping on trying to market their crap.
I haven't seen any porn posts. If I did, I or the other mods would have taken care of it immediately I'm sure.
I'd like to suggest, Chris, that we nominate someone to filter through the registrations - a BIG pain, I know, but short of the other "automated" ways of doing it I think it's the only way to stop it...
BTW, I like the way you've automated pinn_acle_sys.com to show up as spam.com! Nice! Now I can't rant about it without doing a beh***ger type of mod. |

Another thing:
We've got to be able to post pix here, sometimes that's the only way to get our point across. |

Sometimes. So this is the building block to begin from. Reviewing takes time so it would be more beneficial to be automated...which isn't really possible with graphics, maybe with a spam mod? So it goes back to desire and potential. IIRs mentioned a website that is most likely using a forum mod to establish the criteria/count to disable/enable uploads for users. I've looked into them, but cannot run them on my box AND I'm not certain which one would do the trick.
What now? I'd review 'em myself but I'd let something go that someone else might not :) |

Filter ownage is a sport for spammers... Don't even play.
Plus, most spam here is more likely sweat shop cut and paste styles.
More moderators would help. Clone Bent. |

Most forums here have more than one mod afaik - I'm on Audio/Video with bent, and have deleted several threads and posts, but none of us has time to preview and filter posts, even though I'm only a mod on one forum. I doubt bent, admin or anyone else has time to do this manually either. Automated is the only way to go, even though it is a flawed defense mechanism. |

I'm almost tempted to throw my name out here...I'm on here a fair amount and have the capacity for independent thought (good thing to have): just give me a few rules and I could be like manual automation. Usually I check every thread when I come on. *BUT* I tend to keep up for a while, then slack off from the forums totally so I'm not always here. Depends what's going on really. |

I mean throw my name out into the foray of potential people that you *may* want to look for. Many hands make light work...
If it's a simple case of lock it and report it (or similar) (and except in a few cases) then anyone (again with a few exceptions, people like Jp22 for example) could do that and I'm around enough to keep up. |

Update.
We're getting to the bottom of the pinnacle spam now. Don't delete anything from the pinnacle trolls. |

"Don't delete anything from the pinnacle trolls."
OK, leave the posts. But, can we delete the trolls?
