Just a little jam to get some recording time in. Its called "Worm Hole". Kind of simple, but fun. Was done in a few hours, so I didnt have much time to mix it. Let me know what it needs. I think the bass drum and snare are too loud. But it may be Im tired. Next tune will be a cover and its time to pick a complicated one. Here is the link.

Damn man, you have a really good sound going.
Everything sounds really delicious.
You need to quantize those midi drums though. LOL joke. Do you play to a click? |

The bass guitar is ran through my Boss GT8 (I used some crunch/chorus preset) then into my mixer. I need to start writting these presets down. The GT8 is for guitar but works pretty good for bass too. I find a little bit of chorus on a bass will make it stand out better. |

They are not Midi drums !!!!! Actual drums . Here is how I usually do things. I play to a drum loop, I just jam too it on guitar while recording. If something sounds ok I work on it. I do all the guitar work and vocals (if needed), then play the actual drums to the song. I use 7 mics on the set with 2 room mics. Then I mix. Pretty simple. |

It sure doesn't sound like Gene Autry?
Your drums are totally superb! Simply wonderful! Huge! Fat! Yeah!
Yup, love that chorus on the bass.
Great guitar sound.

I envy you .....I want a drum set but have VERY little space to put one if I get it.

Thanks Remy. The country stuff will be a challenge. Im a rocker when it comes to my own stuff. But I have thaught about rocking out a Johnny Cash song. My son said he would like to do "Ring of fire", metal style. My recordings are getting progressively better. I read alot and record alot. Plus I spend more time on them. I have a long way to go, but I feel like Im learning everyday and that makes me feel good. Thanks for the comments. |

Thanks. Ive got a 16 channel, Mackie 1640 Onyx I use. I mix out of the box though. The mixer sends a clean signal to my DAW, so I cant use it to mix. But the preamps on it are very clean (maybe too clean), as I find out on the country mixes Ive been playing with. I may at some point get a control unit for my DAW. But damn they are expensive. Ive got kids keeping my wallet empty. |
